MEET Sean & Nicole

Last fall Sean and I had the honor and privilege of photographing Kim’s and Noah’s wedding in High Point, NC. As Noah is my (not so little) cousin, this wedding was extra dear to my heart. Noah and Kim met online when they were teens. Several years later, Noah proposed to Kim at our family camp in Wayne, ME. They had already picked out their wedding venue, Castle McCulloch,  a few years before, as they both loved that it was a castle. Noah and Kim enjoy watching movies together, as well as eating delicious food, and they are both huge fans of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. They even went to New Zealand to visit the shire on their honeymoon.

As the wedding drew closer, we realized that we would be running short on time due to venue restrictions. We opted to venture to Sarah P Duke Gardens in Durham the day before the wedding in order to get some portraits. I’m so glad that we did this, as it allowed a more relaxed schedule on the wedding day, and Noah and Kim were able to enjoy their portraits and not stress. They also wanted to include their dogs in a few photos, and Duke Gardens was the perfect place to accomplish this.

Their wedding ceremony was so special, as it was celebrated with close friends and family. Noah’s (and my) Uncle, Bill, officiated the wedding ceremony. Bill Also officiated Noah’s parents’ wedding, as well as Noah’s brother’s wedding.

(Please note: the dark and moody style of these images no longer reflects my brand)

Noah’s parents hosted an adorable rehearsal dinner at their house. The dinner was catered by one of Noah’s and Kim’s local favorites, Dame’s Chicken & Waffles. It was delicious southern comfort food!

The morning of the wedding all of the girls, including the mothers, got pampered at Altered Image Hair Designers in Durham, where Noah’s mom has been getting her hair cut since Noah was a little boy.

Then it was off to Castle McCulloch in High Point to start preparations.
