MEET Sean & Nicole

I don’t know about you, but my family LOVES food! We love to eat food, cook food, and watch anything food related on TV. One of my husband’s and my favorite pastimes is cuddling up on the couch and watching Master Chef. Of course in doing so we also need some kind of yummy snack because it is impossible to watch that show and not start salivating at the mouth and lusting over every dish set before the judges. If only TV allowed you to taste as well as see those amazing creations.

We have always enjoyed cooking together. Let’s face it, cooking together in the kitchen can be fun and quite romantic. Throw in a little wine and some music to set the mood and, well….

In the beginning of our marriage there were plenty of times that our creations did not turn out quite so scrumptious. I remember the first time Sean made flan…I still cannot eat flan to this day. There is just something so gross about sweet, creamy scrambled eggs. I’m pretty sure the first time he made creme brûlée it turned out quite the same. blech! Now his creme brûlée is one of my favorites!

Sean has often cooked amazing meals for our family. I LOVE this about him! What I don’t love…the mess he leaves behind. I’m pretty sure he is not capable of making a meal without utilizing every single dish in the kitchen. He says it doesn’t taste as good if he doesn’t use enough pans. I mean, one time he made ramen noodles and I think he used 4 pans…for ramen noodles! He also has not quite mastered the art of “cleaning as you go”. I usually follow him around cleaning after him. The rule in our house is, If you cook you don’t clean, unless of course I’m the one that cooked and then that rule goes right out the window.  But I digress…

So the other night when I was exhausted, I fell asleep close to dinner time. Sean went in the kitchen and made an amazing, delicious meal for our family. This is what I woke up to – Grilled salmon, cilantro lime rice with fresh pico de gallo, fresh avocado, black bean paste and cilantro oil. Oh my yum! The best part…He cleaned the mess afterwards! That is what I call sexy!

As a freshman in high school, Ashley had the biggest crush on Blake, who was a senior at the time. Nothing ever came of the crush, and after Blake graduated, Ashley believed that was the end of it. Eight years later, sharing some of the same friends, they ran into each other at their town’s […]

Life is such a beautiful and fragile thing. All of the minute moments seem so trivial and are so easily forgotten, but even the little things are precious. Every moment in life should be cherished, every memory captured. This past year I had the honor of photographing the most beautiful and heartfelt wedding I have […]

Hanna and Tyler met on a late night snack run through a mutual friend. They pretty much hit it off instantly. They began dating on Valentines day in 2015, and were engaged a little more than two years later under the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Watching these two together, it is evident that they are […]

Last fall Sean and I had the honor and privilege of photographing Kim’s and Noah’s wedding in High Point, NC. As Noah is my (not so little) cousin, this wedding was extra dear to my heart. Noah and Kim met online when they were teens. Several years later, Noah proposed to Kim at our family […]
